Awww, Jake turned 20 today. Where has the time gone??

Anyway...don't want to get sappy so I asked Scott to throw a little pic together for Jake. These are a couple of Jake's favorite people....or so Scott and I guessed.

A bitter sweet day

In the eulogy for my dad, Mike wrote the following....it was once said that the dead don't really die until they are forgotten so remember him when your eating a burger and you see that bottle of ketchup, go ahead and give yourself a little extra on the side of your plate...Remember him when your watching the REDSKINS BEAT DALLAS ON A COLD SUNDAY AFTERNOON....
Well, I know i was thinking about him a lot through out the game today. I remember many sayings he used when we would watch the skins every Sunday. A few of my favorites are...I have seen a better set of hands on a broken clock, Dallas are a bunch of suck a$$ mules, and any opposing team he would call lying cheating dogs. Oh, and my personal fave...he said that the NFL stood for the negro felon league...HAHA. Not sure who he got that from, but to me it was all about my dads outlook.
Anyway...I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking of my dad today. He loved watching the Redskins; and I miss watching them with him.

I love my girls

Sat I had my Mama, Kathy, Danny, Amy, Jeff, and Jake over. We had a good time. It was the 1st time they all (except my mom) saw the house. We ate, took a little walk to the water, and had lots of laughs.
I took a few pics and will post them tomorrow. I'm feeling too lazy since i used all of my energy cheering for the redskins this afternoon.
I want to thank you all for spending your Sat visiting Scott and I, not to mention the long drive. I really am HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY to have a fun, loving, and NORMAL family.

How do you like my green...I mean purple, I mean peachy bathroom?

I started w thinking that I wanted a lime green bathroom. The 1st color was way too yellow so I tried again. The 2nd color was too neon green and the 3rd was also too neon SO I thought, hey....go w your favorite color; purple. How could I go wrong w that?? Well, I did. My mother saw it and laughed. And let me tell you....it was laughable. It was way too bright and UGLY. I had a color sample thing w a couple pics of rooms w light colors and after all of the trouble I had picking a color I wanted to go light. My mom and Scott weighed in we all thought the new color was good. My mother thinks its the color of her living room but it looks differant in my bathroom. I like it. Its MUCH better.

Oh, where to start?

My kick ass mother came over again last Sat to help us finish up the "foundation landscaping".

It looks totally awesome and I cant thank her enough. The last thing we have to do is mulch it.

Oh, the garden hose HAS been moved to the side of the house mom....I will post a pic tomorrow to show you. It looks loads better. And Amy, there is a pic of my fun wind chime I was telling you about. I think its adorable. I moved it to a hook on the side of the tree, but you get the idea. See mom, you can tell I water....the house it wet from the sprinkler!!

Then on Sun Scott and I made our way to "the western shore" to celebrate Kathys and my mothers birthdays. We all met at Carrabas in Bowie. Lunch was super and mom finally got her chicken bryan. Side note....A couple weekends ago mom was over to our house and the day got away from us so I didnt have time to make her the birthday dinner I planned to make her. It was chicken bryan...anyway, I made it for Scott and I the next night and I called mom to tell her how good it was. She said since I mentioned it to her she has been wanting the dish; SO, I'm very glad she was able to satisfy her craving. OK, back to sun. After lunch we all headed to Kathy's for AMAZINGLY DELISH cheesecake that Amy made and presents. I think the highlight of the afternoon was when we all gathered around the table, listened to a bizarre recording, and mom welcomed Scott to the family. Good times!!

And lastly, I just had to add a couple cute pics of Reagan or as Scott and I call him, Trouble. He really ended up to be an entertaining kitten. She and Lilly play so well together and Kitty even will play w him for a minute or 2.

Damn cat wont stay off of the counter...but he had wrapped himself up in the paper towels and was napping.

OK, My Mama came over today and helped us, once again, with our garden. She dug up some stuff from her garden and did most of the digging and planting. What a good egg!
Anyway...I have not taken pics yet because as Scott and I watched City Hall (good movie btw) we heard lots of gun shots soooo, I didn't go out and take pics.
I'm looking forward to celebrating My moms and Kathy's birthdays tomorrow and I just know that I will be taking pics at the restaurant for lunch and then at Kathy's for cake.
When I get back tomorrow from all of the fun I will take pics of the yard/garden and post w the pics of the b day festivities.

The new color i hate

Ok, as i looked at the pics on my computer I dont hate is as much as I do on the wall. I read and have been told to live with the color for a couple of days before you make up your mind. Welllll, not lovin the new line green. Its ok, just a little to bright or neon for me.

Anyway....Amy told me the color she used for her half bath so Im totally excited to go and get that this week. Her bathroom was what I had in mind when I decided on a green for mine. I originally wanted a pretty lavender but I thought I should get out of my box as my mother would say and try something else. Anyway....thanks Amy I.....I will let you know how it looks!! Its a lot brighter than it looks (well at least on my computer)

Alrighty....I wanted a pretty, cheerful, "fun" line green in my half bath. My mother and I went to the hardware store last weekend and I pushed and rushed her into picking a color/shade for me. She told me several times she doesn't like to be rushed, but....me being me rushed her and THIS is what I ended up with.

I don't blame her a bit and to be honest it doesn't look like the sample so I will be taking back the paint this week at some point and start all over. Wish me luck :)

Scott and I took the bull by the horns and attempted to plant a little round area around the light post.

I hope my mom isn't too disappointed....We tried :)

MY MOTHER!!!

My wonderfully, amazingly, sweet mother spent her entire Saturday at my house helping Scott and I create a new front garden. She gave us the push, knowledge, and inspiration we needed to get the planting started.

It was a very busy day but we now have a spectacular foundation to build on.

I know....I know...I am gushing, but I really want my mother to know how much Scott and I appreciate all of her help.

There were a couple overgrown bush's that Scott and his cousin removed last weekend so we had a clean pallet to work with.

Hello everyone!!

i know its been forever...Sorry!! I have been using Scott's lab top cuz mine needs a little attention and I cant remember my username and password for the blog i set up that links to my website. That's the reason I haven't blogged in a whi.

Oh, also to free up space on my computer I put all of my pics and music on an external hard drive and to be honest I am too lazy to walk into the back room and connect it to post.

So, whats new?? Scott and I have been busy workin on the house. Its fun but lots of work; work I'm not used to :)

Um, i do have a couple pics on Scott's computer. The 1st is a pic of the new valances I put on in the kitchen aka breakfast area. I think they are light and pretty!! The 2nd pic is what the front after Scott and his cousin yanked a couple overgrown shrubs last weekend. My wonderfull mother is coming over this weekend to help up start a new front garden area. We need her help bad....neither one of us know anything about gardening.

Hey people.....
Just an FYI....I have a new website.....well....I have had the site for a while but its FINALLY getting close to being completed. Once you go to the site there is a link for my new blog. The site is: www.eggknee.us . Yes, I stole Mikes "eggknee" thingy. Hopefully he doesn't mind too much.

Soph is 4.

My girl Soph turns 4 today. Cant believe she is that old. I miss that girl!!!

She is SO adorable. I called her tonight to say happy birthday and she was telling me that she was on her way to dinner and told me that I could come if I wanted. When I explained that I was too far away she came back and told me that if I wasn't going to be able to make it to dinner then I could come for her birthday party this weekend. TOO FLIPPIN CUTE!

My "little" Conner

About a week and a half ago; after Danny and Jeff's birthday bash I went to Reed and Marys for dinner and to catch up with them. I hadn't seen them for about 2 months so it was GREAT to see them all.

Conner is almost a yr old and has grown up so much. Since I had seen him last he now crawls and has 2 bottom teeth. Plus he is getting even bigger and healthier....haha.

Alrighty....I have wanted to post for over a week now but hit a snag w uploading pics. Luckily, my brother Mike is a genius and helped his sista out.
Anyway....let us start with last weekend. Kathy and Amy threw a little bash for Danny and Jeff's birthdays; they both celebrate the glorious anniversary of their birth in April.
It was a good ol time. Shannon and Kylie were there so that was nice. Babies are always too fun to be around!!

OK, I brought Lilly to Scott's yesterday for the 1st time. Thus far poor Kitty is non-too-pleased!! They had one little "spat" and since Kitty hasn't left the back bedroom. I feel awful!! She has never been around another animal in all of her 6 yrs so I'm not sure that she will come around.

At Eater Amy asked me if Scott had any animals. I explained that he accidentally hit a kitten about 6 yrs ago. He stopped, took her to the vent, and ended up keeping her. She is the most unusual cat I have ever come across. She begs for food like a dog...I mean JUST like a dog. She (oh, her name is Kitty) will be in the back room sleeping, but as soon as she smells food she is under your feet crying for food. She likes chicken, steak, cheese, lettuce....the list goes on and on. She is a huge lap cat and she is very spoiled....and very pretty.

She will be meeting Lilly soon. Cant wait to see how they interact; should be interesting.
